Prestige are proud to go to Clitheroe Castle and with it being situated at the base of Pendle Hill, this place will come into its own with the Pendle Witches around and on the 400 year anniversary too!
The Castle Keep - Built in 1186 by Robert de Lacy, The Norman keep of Clitheroe Castle is said to be the second smallest keep in England. The keep was damaged after its capture by Parliamentary forces during the civil war, but was repaired in 1848 with the smooth limestone blocks now clearly visible. There is a legend that the Devil threw a boulder from Pendle Hill and hit the castle creating the hole you can see today.
It's not just what is inside the museum that tells a story, the building itself is part of the long and fascinating history of the castle.
This was the Steward's House and parts of the building date from at least 1720. It was built as accommodation for the Steward and his household. During the 1700's it was used as a prison and courthouse.
The Steward was the official who looked after the manor or Honor Of Clitheroe's business all the legal and financial affairs to do with the castle and its wider property. The Steward's House, like the castle keep and the surrounding parkland came into public ownership as part of Clitheroe's war memorial after the First World War.
So when you walk through the museum you are exploring part of the early history of the region that goes right back to the origins of the castle after William the Conqueror.
In 1612 a law was passed which forbid any act of “making a covenant with an evil spirit, hurting life or limb, injuring live stock by means of charms or procuring love". All acts were subject to the death penalty. By order of James I. During the Pendle which trials Margaret Pearson was pilloried at Clitheroe Castle, head and hands locked in a wooden framework on a post to be exposed to public scorn as punishment. She was also pilloried at Padiham, Whalley and Lancaster, followed by a year of imprisonment at Lancaster Castle.
Ghosts of a man a woman and a child have been seen and have been thought to have all come from the same family.
The ghost of a young servant girl and a man in uniform also have been reported here. Light anomalies have been captured and loud moans and audibles have been heard. And of course the obvious pendle hill witches especially Margeret. A shadowy figure has also been seen from the window and including a white lady.
Clitheroe castle is very close to Pendle Hill, famous for the Pendle Hill Witches, Its history dates back to William the Conqueror and the Norman
conquest. With an impressive back drop of Pendle Hill, just the drive there is enough to scare most people. With Pendle hill in the distance and the infamous witches that have been known to have murdered 17 people in the 1600's, it comes to no surprise that this area is full of activity and history and emotions. Are you brave enough to spend the night?

Marshall touches the ladies he likes everytime weve been here and also the haunted clock which changes its ticks when you ask for it and also the spirit of the girl who broke our table on the table tipping session and then slamming the toilet door as she was scared and making the lights flicker and two ladies scream when it happened lol we are here with a christmas 3 course dinner 15th dcember 2012, and also for a 2 course dinner 9th of february 2013
9. Drakelow Tunnels in Kidderminster Worcestershire. Drakelow has 3 miles of tunnels and rooms to explore. Shadows being detected in attic 2 of a little boy. an im not talking tiny attics, there huge with 5 or 6 rooms in! Then in Maries room her shadow blocked out the light eminating from the glow in the dark dowsing rods and the psychometry was brilliant with both parties picking up on her energy. In the guards room there were shadows being picked up on the meter and also the k2s were going off in response by a little boy in the tower. will be returning here in april 2013
2. Ancient Ram Inn Gloucestershire. Psychological nightmare this one. Arriving and having a look around you feel like your being watched constantly. Dragging noises above whilst on a break in the bishops room upstairs. Also being locked out of the bishops room too!. Best ouija session here as both teams had the same information , including the year the priest murdered his illigimate daughter.

Then the emfs going on the stairs when i said that robert the gamekeeper was there on one particular step. the k2's went right up to red where i said he was:D

The team at prestige Paranormal Ghost Hunts
Samantha Coupe, Has been ghost huntng for many years and she became a medium in 2009 after going to open circles to develop. Since then she was on many ghost hunts as a guest, before her and her husband started up prestige paranormal in may 2011. She is involved in the mediumship walkaround, and also the mediumship vigil. The mediumship vigil entails dowsing rods, pendulums, scrying mirror, and singapore experiment, as well as hand held vigils.
Andrew Coupe, He has been ghost hunting with sam and hes the sceptical one of the group, it makes very good conversations with his wife sam who is the medium and the debates can go on for hours at thier house lol. Hes in charge of the equipment vigil at the ghost hunts. His favorite phrase is '' what cant speak, cant lie'' and deals with k2 meters, laser thermometers, light intensity meter, franks box, motion sensors, ssuper sound hearing enhancers, laser grid pens and many more.
Wayne, is Gemma Ropers fiance and has been ghost hunting with sam and andy and gemma since the start. He too went on to develop his mediumship with sam and together they do the mediumship walkaround. Wayne deals with the victoriana vigil which entails the ouija board (which is optional, we never force, and yes it is very protected!), glass work and table tipping.
Gemma Roper, shes on the fence when it comes to the paranormal, She does mainly the equipment vigil, but participate in all three when theres quite a few members of staff around.
Pete Morris, what can we say about pete! he was a guest on our first ghost hunt as a company to the leicester guildhall, and he went on a few events, and at the galleries, he dressed as a udge on the mediumship walkaround and we knew we just had to have him as staff!. Hes very much on the fence, would love nothing more than a personal experience to happen to him. Hes very entertaining and quite often produces some very funny footage for our outake videos on you tube.
So you have mediumship vigil, victoriana vigil and equipment vigil, various things throughout the night so your guys dont get bored! Plas lone vigils and group vigils at the end, and also refreshment breaks throughout inc tea coffee juices, hot chocolate, mini brownies, sausage rolls, chocolate bars, mini flapjacks, dunking buscuits.
If you want to join us and be a part of the ghost hunting experience with our mad lot, then join us at www.prestigeparanormalevents.co.uk
Ps were in nottingham so if theres any experienced ghost hunters who want to be a part of the crew from time to time on our busy times of the year, visit the website and message us. Sorry local please derbyshire or nottinghamshire so we can give you a lift :D often found its adds well over an hour to the travelling time if its too far and driving in the wee small hours, not very good for saftey and sleepyheads lol.

Prestige Paranormal Ghost Hunts Starts Blogging
Prestige Paranormal has only just realised that we have a great blog site here. We cant wait to get started :D For people wondering who we are, we are a ghost hunting events company in the uk, who like nothing more than to go round haunted historical buildings with our guests and find the paranormal.
Currently halloween is coming right up and we know that its the start of the ghost hunting season and tickets have been going fast. Although Halloween is great for a ghost hunt, we have found over the years that anytime is a good time for ghost hunting, for example we went to margam castle in february and it was active start to finish, or in may when the sunset was rather late in the evenings, at 7.30pm when it was still light, we saw a full apparition at stanley palace in chester.
We have seen good places to ghost hunt and also bad places. Ones that havent been so bright are pubs that claim they haunted, but were simply drunken stories over the bar that have been distorted over the years. However, there are some right little gems such as the bull i th thorn on derbyshire, or the lion and swan in cheshire, and the feathers hotel in shropshire. If we come across anymore great inns, we will be posting up on the blog.
Some places we have been to have been the most frightening, ancient ram in in gloucestershire, drakelow tunnels in worcestershire, and also bolling hall in bradford. We have yet to go to clitheroe castle in lancashire at the base of pendle hill, however were visiting the on october the 20th so will keep everyne informed as to how it goes. Were looking forward to that one as its haunted in its own right, as well as doncaster air museum, weve yet to visit a museum which houses various planes and will be excited to do the psychometry experiment there.
We have various places leading up to christmas, so if you want to come join us, visit www.prestigeparanormalevents.co.uk and on there is a list of our upcoming events all across the country.
