Clitheroe Castle on Pendle Hill Ghost Hunt

Prestige Paranormal and Guests went to pendle Hill on saturday 20th of october. There are 3 buildings here which you can discover. Theres the castle keep, the main base room areas, and the stewards house which houses the main museum. Interesting in the castle keep with the k2 meters going off to questions, in the stewards house in the study proved interesting as we was hearing footsteps by a seargeant and his presence everyone could feel and he even stood in the centre of the circle and people was seeing a blackness. We also made contact with a sarah warborton there a maid who was murdered. Then there was cold spots. There was some table tipping going off on the upper part of the stewards house, but everybody most of all loved the kitchens. With everyone really still with thier backs up against the wall to eliminate natural sway, the motion sensors went off by a girl spirit. Then female guests were starting to feel sick and then in the darkness a light went off in the disabled toilets. you could see light around the doorframe. When investigating the only way you could put this light on iss via walking in and having a sensor going off to make the light come on. The door was shut the whole entire time.
At the end of the night it did get too much for one guest who was sensitve and had to leave as the soldier that was making everyone feel ill got too great.
Upstairs in the hospital area, sam and beki did a ouija board session with john one of the pendle witches coming through on the board. We was glad to make contact with a pendle hill witch, since you cannot investigate tynedlae farms like most haunted did as they are private dwellings. But glad we had a great time and it was active. The atmosphere wass very good and almost spiritual in a way, a bit like you would find glastonbury.
We are here on saturday 26th of october 2013. If you want to reserve a place, you can with a £20.00 deposit to secure the booking. but get them fast. we sold out this event this year and this was a week before halloween. Clitheroe Castle on the base of Pendle Hill Ghost Hunt Saturday 20th october 2012

Prestige are proud to go to Clitheroe Castle and with it being situated at the base of Pendle Hill, this place will come into its own with the Pendle Witches around and on the 400 year anniversary too!

The Castle Keep - Built in 1186 by Robert de Lacy, The Norman keep of Clitheroe Castle is said to be the second smallest keep in England. The keep was damaged after its capture by Parliamentary forces during the civil war, but was repaired in 1848 with the smooth limestone blocks now clearly visible. There is a legend that the Devil threw a boulder  from Pendle Hill and hit the castle creating the  hole you can see today.
It's not just what is inside the museum that tells a story, the building itself is part of the long and fascinating history of the castle.
This was the Steward's House and parts of the building date from at least 1720.  It was built as accommodation for the Steward and his household.  During the 1700's it was used as a prison and courthouse.
The Steward was the official who looked after the manor or Honor Of Clitheroe's business all the legal and financial affairs to do with the castle and its wider property.  The Steward's House, like the castle keep and the surrounding parkland came into public ownership as part of Clitheroe's war memorial after the First World War.
So when you walk through the museum you are exploring part of the early history of the region that goes right back to the origins of the castle after William the Conqueror.
In 1612 a law was passed which forbid any act of “making a covenant with an evil spirit, hurting life or limb, injuring live stock by means of charms or procuring love". All acts were subject to the death penalty.  By order of James I. During the Pendle which trials Margaret Pearson was pilloried at Clitheroe Castle, head and hands locked in a wooden framework on a post to be exposed to public scorn as punishment. She was also pilloried at Padiham, Whalley and Lancaster, followed by a year of imprisonment at Lancaster Castle.
Ghosts of a man a woman and a child have been seen and have been thought to have all come from the same family.
The ghost of a young servant girl and a man in uniform also have been reported here. Light anomalies have been captured and loud moans and audibles have been heard. And of course the obvious pendle hill witches especially Margeret. A shadowy figure has also been seen from the window and including a white lady.

Clitheroe castle is very close to Pendle Hill, famous for the Pendle Hill Witches, Its history dates back to William the Conqueror and the Norman
conquest. With an impressive back drop of Pendle Hill, just the drive there is enough to scare most people. With Pendle hill in the distance and the infamous witches that have been known to have murdered 17 people in the 1600's, it comes to no surprise that this area is full of activity and history and emotions. Are you brave enough to spend the night?
